INTRODUCTION

On the horizon, where kindred folk gather... one song for all.

Tribes Hill is a nonprofit organization uniting musicians of the lower Hudson Valley region and their patrons in support of a music community that aspires to common goals and beliefs. It is a conceptual gathering place for people of all races, politics, and faiths coming together to explore and celebrate the human experience through song.

We are all kindred spirits in regard to the human experience; sharing ancestral ties back to the beginning of time. Our first voice was one of music, imitating the sounds that we heard in nature. That is our common roots in music and in language. We all originate from the same sea of humanity and from the star dust of the Cosmos. We are all kindred folk in the big picture of the universe. Photographs of our planet from space remind us of this. Many families of nations, tribes and varied spiritual faiths experiencing humanity from different perspectives. Collectively those visions are colorful and exotic, like a quilt of many pieces making a whole cloth that blankets this Earth. The world grows smaller as technology advances. We must somehow learn to coexist with our cohabitants. That is a mission of Tribes Hill, to bring the various tribes back together in a meeting of song, dance and celebration.

Music is a language on a profound level. We share our experiences and inspirations with others in hopes of a connection. To be part of something bigger than ourselves and to not be alone. We all need a mirror...an affirmation of our being. The world can be a frightening place when subject to our isolation. Music can unite us all. Tribes Hill is a gathering place for people of all faiths, politics and beliefs coming together to celebrate the human experience as a part of our spiritual journey. It is a place in our minds that welcomes all the tribes of mankind and through it reunite with our kindred spirits. It can become the largest and most wonderful landscape of the imagination and from it come the most beautiful songs of our human dreams and hopes of peace, understanding, and acceptance.

We have been telling people this is the Eleventh Hour...

There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart and they will suffer greatly. Know the river has a destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, and push off and into the river. Keep our eyes open, and our head above water. See who is there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, take nothing personally, least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt. The time of the lone wolf is over... gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that you do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

"We are the ones we've been waiting for..."
