Tribes Hill Joins with AcousticMusicScene.com to Host Late Night Song Swaps at Falcon Ridge

AcousticMusicScene.com and Tribes Hill will jointly present late-night artist showcases and song swaps during the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival.  The festival takes place July 24-27 at Dodds Farm in Hillsdale, New York, located in the foothills of the Berkshires near the tri-state corner of New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Co-creators of Acoustic Music Scene.com and Tribes Hill members Michael Kornfeld and Glen Roethel will host late-night music under a big white canopy tent at the top of the ridge on Thursday, Friday and Saturday beginning shortly after the Main Stage quiets for the night.  Bring your instruments, voices and ears, and join us.  An open song swap will be preceded by about an hour of pre-arranged short artist showcases and rounds each evening.

Now marking its 20th anniversary, the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival has an impressive lineup of artists slated to perform on the Main Stage and workshop stages throughout the weekend, along with a Friday afternoon Emerging Artists Showcase, a swingin' dance tent, children's music and activities, and an array of crafts, food and other vendors.  But the fun doesn't end there.  Among the true highlights of Falcon Ridge, for those who opt to camp on-site and stay up through the wee hours of the morning, are the informal jams and the after-hours song circles and short artist showcases. These late-night sessions help foster a sense of "folk" community and a different kind of festival experience.

Thursday (Midnight to 1:15 a.m.)

AcousticMusicScene.com & Tribes Hill present An Evening of Emerging Artists featuring Joe Crookston and Tribes Hill's own Anthony da Costa (both of whom were 2007 audience choices for "Most Wanted to Return" emerging artists) and participants in this year's Falcon Ridge/Grassy Hill Emerging Artists Showcase Carrie Elkin, Danny Schmidt, Abi Tapia and Gretchen Witt.

Note: Others who will be performing in the Emerging Artists Showcase on Friday afternoon are most welcome to join us and be introduced during our Open Song Circles tonight and Friday night.

Friday (12:35 a.m.-1:35 a.m.)

New York-based Falcon Ridge Folk Festival newcomers Gathering Time (an acoustic folk harmony trio) and singer-songwriters Joe Iadanza and Erin Sax Seymour (she's also in Friday afternoon's Emerging Artists Showcase) join the Guy Mendilow Band (an inventive Boston-based world music ensemble) for what promises to be a very different and entertaining hour-long song swap.

Saturday (following Main Stage)

An Hour with Tribes Hill Member Artists from the Hudson Valley & Beyond: Ali Chambliss, Lara Herscovitch, Phil Minissale, Glen Roethel with special guests David Massengill and Randall Williams
