To support the Innovative Sounds Celebration project to present 12 local popular music artists in six hour-long television/radio productions, filmed at the local studio as well as various rural locations and distributed via the Web and podcasts.

WXXI Public Broadcasting Council (Rochester) $165,000
To support BackStage Pass, a series of broadcasts coupled with artist interviews in an hour-long, twice-monthly series for television, radio and the Web featuring regional artists from Western New York representing a variety of multigenerational music and the Rochester International Jazz Festival.

Yeshiva University Museum (New York) $50,000
For Sephardic Nightlife, a series of programs presenting Sephardic Jewish music in collaboration with the American Sephardi Federation.

YMCA Boulton Center (Glen Cove) $40,000
To support the series American Voices: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, presenting 11 artists of various popular music styles, ethnic backgrounds and generations.

YMCA of Greater Syracuse (Syracuse) $18,000
For instructional and performance support for the Music Lesson Program and the After School Arts Programs, providing instrumental and vocal lessons to 400 students from low-income, underserved communities through partnerships with public schools.

Young Audiences New York (New York) $80,000
In support of Global Sounds, academic year-long residency programs for fourth- and fifth-graders at in East Harlem and Hunts Point, with skills-based instruction and ensemble building, culminating in a public performance for families and school.

Young Concert Artists (New York) $20,000
For performance and outreach support of the YCA Composers Concert featuring five original contemporary pieces performed by YCA musicians and composers.

ZviDance (New York) $10,000
To support the creation of an electronic score by the composer Scott Killian for the premiere of Gertrud.
