The Acoustic Café Music Series and the First Congregational Church, both of Park Ridge, present a special holiday concert featuring three musical couples with glorious harmonies and multi-instrumental collaboration. The show will focus on fresh interpretations of holiday songs and uplifting original material, providing some relief from “fa-la-la-fatigue” and send you home renewed by the magic of music!
Sara Milonovich & Andy Goessling: Singer/songwriter & fiddler Sara is part of the roots-rock band Daisycutter, and is also a sought-after accompanist in the rock, folk, bluegrass, Americana, & celtic music worlds, and has performed and recorded with such artists as Richard Shindell, Pete Seeger & Eliza Gilkyson. Andy is a founding member of the acclaimed jamband Railroad Earth, and has played with countless other artists including Phil Lesh, Warren Haynes, and Bruce Hornsby.
Karen Savoca & Pete Heitzman: Grit and sensitivity, percussion and groove. Karen and Pete are sinuous as two skaters gliding on ice as they play across soul, r &b, roots and world rhythms, conjuring a communion between audience and stage. The Edmonton Journal says, "There's soul in the delicious grooves & phrasing, and soul in the broader sense that floats out of her lyrical vision." The duo have released eight CDs, with a new release forthcoming.
Open Book: Michele & Rick Gedney have released two albums which received critical acclaim and national airplay. They have built a loyal following drawn to their mesmerizing songs, which weave guitar and vocal harmonies. “ Michele and Rick exhibit a gift for songwriting that entwines melodic invention with astute observations of the heart and soul-filling vocals of sterling quality,” says Tom Staudter of The Croton Gazette. Their new CD, Grateful, is about to be released.
