WhyHunger Hungerthon Benefit Concert with Steve Chapin, the Chapin Sisters, Joe D’Urso and Christopher Brown!

This special benefit Show will be presented in association with WhyHunger, The Acoustic Cafe Music Series and the Borough of Park Ridge. WhyHunger, the organization founded in 1975 by the late singer/songwriter Harry Chapin and Bill Ayers, enlists performing artists to raise funds and awareness for the most innovative and effective community-based organizations fighting hunger and poverty all across the world. Through music we can all make a difference in the world!

Artists performing include Steve Chapin, The Chapin Sisters, Joe D’Urso with Seth Saltzman and Christopher Brown.

Steve Chapin, brother of Harry and Tom Chapin, has performed nationally and internationally with his own Steve Chapin band and with his late brother Harry as band leader, musical director, arranger, producer, multi instrumentalist and singer. He continues to perform concerts as the Harry Chapin band, with three of the original members, keeping the legacy of Harry’s music alive and well.

The Chapin Sisters, Abigail and Lily, are an American folk-rock and harmony duo, daughters of Tom and nieces of Harry and Steve.  Their sound blurs the lines between old-time Appalachian music, classic country-rock and pop. The Chapin Sisters carry on a proud family musical legacy.

Joe D’Urso's fierce independence, dynamic stage presence and altruistic nature have led him down a road less traveled, being on the Board of Directors for Why Hunger and The Light of Day Foundation and presenter of the Rockland/Bergen Music Festival. With his roots/rock band, Stone Caravan, Joe has released 14 CDs.

Singer/songwriter/artist Christopher Brown is known as a solo acoustic performer, the leader of duos and trios, and as the voice of the Bookends band, which has been rocking out since 1976. Chris has just released a new CD of his original music, The Brown Album.

Tickets: $22 advance online, $25 at the door.
