River - Judy Kass

Your Mommy and I would meet at the Hudson River Pier
Parking our bikes on a post we'd arrive at about the same time
We'd kick off our shoes and drink up the sunshine as we'd
Let our feet dip in the water and dream looking up at the sky
And I'd dream that I would travel and sing and act in plays some day
I shared so much with you Mom on those special river days
Your Mommy and I left rivers behind for oceans
Both traveling far from the world that we knew, had adventures and grew
And though the pier's gone I sometimes go back to the river
To let my feet dip in the water and dream looking up at the sky
And I dream a different dream now, I hope it will come true
I dream that one day soon you'll know my little girl too
She'll be your friend and love to dream on a river with you
She'll love to dream on a river with you, dream on a river with you
Just like ike your Mommy and I used to do, dream on a river with you
