Tribes Hill PresentsKindred Folk with John Banrock Boy Band Larry Kolker Lipkin amp Hitt
BOY BAND is a New York based folk/pop trio. Together they blend their unique songwriting styles to create catchy choruses with stirring harmonies and swells. Meeting in high school and college, the three girls first came together and discovered their seamless sound at a friend’s backyard party, singing a song together on a whim. Since then Ana Dratz, Jen Fischer, and HaleyJane Rose have been collaborating to write music that highlights their blended voices and stories.

JOHN BANROCK - Combining a striking mix of guitar, harmonica, vocals, foot tambourine and kazoo, John Banrock’s one-man-band approach offers an experience different from the norm.  His originally penned introspective ballads, upbeat rockers and heartfelt instrumentals illuminate the diversity and authenticity of his art.  The Pleasantville based craftsman is nearing completion of his fifth studio album. www.johnbanrock.com

LARRY KOLKER  plays American roots music with an edge. His songs cross folk, blues, rock, pop and alt country, with a dynamic, personal voice. His music has been called the "urban country east-coast white-boy blues".  A  review of his 2012 CD, "Awful Smart Man," stated: “He's certainly an all-round talent. He's a distinctive vocalist with songwriting chops to match; an accomplished guitarist and an in demand blues-harpist...”'— Leicester Bangs Music Blog.   Festival appearances include the 2015 KAABOO festival in San Diego, the 2014 Tribes Hill Music Festival at John Jay Homestead, the 2013-2015 Borderline Folk festivals, the 2013 Huntington Folk Festival, and the 2012 & 2013 Montauk Music Festivals.  www.larrykolker.com

LIPKIN & HITT are a powerhouse duo. When acoustic-guitarist-storytelling-troubadour, Jay Hitt, meets truth-seeking piano-playing songstress, Lisa Jane Lipkin, the result is a little breezy, a little earthy, and a whole lot compelling,
Jay Hitt was twice named Best Acoustic Musician by readers of the Pittsburgh City Paper, his song “Tracy Loves Ray” won Best Song in the Canadian Narrative Music and “Through The Window” received an Honorable Mention. His recording “Gentle Persuader” was named in the top ten CD’s of the year by WYEP/Pittsburgh.
Lipkin has opened for Dar Williams, Steve Forbert, Vance Gilbert, Shemekia Copeland, among others. Her songs have received various prizes & honorable mentions including First Place in a New York State Contest for Environmental Awareness and appeared in the Tami Gold Documentary, “Passionate Politics - The Life & Work of Charlotte Bunch.”
Lipkin & Hitt aspire to incite joy, wake-up light, and spread harmony wherever such things are needed. www.lisajanelipkin.com   www.jayhitt.com
