Urban H2O: Tribes Hill joins Beczak Environmental Education Center to create a new music venue in Yonkers
River Songs: A Celebration of the Hudson, October 25, in Yonkers
River Songs, original music about the Hudson River by Tribes Hill artists, at Urban H2O, a new live music venue at Beczak Environmental Education Center.
River Songs, a live music show featuring original songs celebrating the Hudson River, takes place on October 25 at 2 PM at Urban H2O. This new performance venue at 35 Alexander Street, Yonkers, is a partnership between Beczak Environmental Education Center and Tribes Hill music collective. Tickets for the concert, priced at $20 for adults and $14 for seniors and children up to age 16, can be purchased online at www.tribeshill.com.
River Songs features noted Hudson Valley storyteller Jonathan Kruk and singer/songwriters Mel and Vinnie, Victorio Roland Mousaa and Rick Nestler. They will be joined on stage by Marc Black, Madhumita Chakrabartti, Iris Cohen, Andrew V. Craig, Eddie Denise, Phil Dollard, Joe Duraes, James Durst, Fred Gillen Jr., Great Blue, Joe Iadanza, Judy Kass, Steve Kirkman, Eric Puente, Spuyten Duyvil, Pete Tamburrini, Matt Turk, and The YaYas.
Beczak Environmental Education Center is a non-profit organization that presents exhibits and programs for all ages to raise environmental awareness and to encourage informed stewardship of rivers.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation calls Beczaks rehabilitated property an environmental recovery success story. Located on the banks of the Hudson in the City of Yonkers, at River Mile 18, this spacious interpretive center is an adaptive reuse of the former social club for Habirshaw Cable & Wire Co. Its two-acre park features a welcoming riverfront lawn, an easily accessible tidal marsh and a beach used for river exploration and seining.
