Tribes Hill brings its 9th Annual Winter Solstice Celebration to the Beczak Environmental Education Center

Tribes Hill's 9th Annual Winter Solstice Concert and Fundraiser - Sunday, December 19th, 3PM

This enchanting family friendly afternoon attracts patrons back year after year to be entertained and inspired by the collaborative showcasing of our regional musicians and singer/songwriters. Come bring family and friends to enjoy this celebratory event and help support the Beczak and the Hudson Valley's local musical talent! All proceeds raised will be split by these two great regional organizations.

Tribes Hills Annual Fundraiser offers the opportunity for our collective of musical artists to unite and present both fresh and familiar seasonal world music. Representing traditional, original, contemporary and classic genres, songs in native languages spotlight the diversity of celebration and highlight our commonality, the heart of this seasons traditions and festivities.

This years concert includes performances by many of the Tribes Hill artists that have shared the stage at Urban H2O over the past year, including Spuyten Duyvil, Joe Iadanza, Lucky 13,  Milton, Julia Joseph, The YaYas, James Durst, Susan Kane, Lara Herscovitch, Rick Nestler, Eric Puente, David Goldman, Fred Gillen Jr.,  Curtis Schmidt, Bill Wisnowski, Susan Lang,  The Levins, Eddie Denise, Iris Cohen, Pete Tamburrini, Matt Turk, Steve Kirkman, Josh Joffen, Hank Stone, David Massengill, Solar Punch, Larry Kolker, Steve Scholle, Rick Ahneman, Rhonda Schuster, Rob Morsberger  and more.

The annual Tribes Hill Winter Solstice Concert, now in its ninth year, is a gathering designed to give this commingling of disparate musical artists the opportunity to share a broad array of songs -- traditional, original, contemporary and classic -- from various cultures and in a variety of languages, to spotlight the diversity of celebration and underscore the commonality at the heart of festivities that take place this time each year.

Musicians who don't regularly play together will collaborate, incorporating the variable of audience participation, to create a unique synergy of style and experience in an age-old commemoration of the passing of darkness and the coming of light.

Suggested Admission is $10. at the door / Potluck Dinner - please bring a dish, dessert or a snack to share - all financial contributions greatly appreciated!!!

URBAN H20 is a new performance venue in downtown Yonkers presenting the Hudson Valley's best local and regional artists. Shows are the third Saturday of every month at Beczak, an eco-friendly renovation of a former factory social club along the Hudson River in downtown Yonkers.
